Comb

AUv3 resonant comb feedback processor for metallic drum tones, room-like resonances, and motion-heavy textures.

Quick Start

  1. Open your Audio Unit host.
  2. Add Comb as an AUv3 effect on a track or bus.
  3. Set TUNE for pitch, DECAY for tail length, and DAMP for brightness.
  4. Add DRIVE and blend with MIX, then level-match with OUT.
Note: Comb processes audio and is designed for inserted track or bus workflows.

Control Summary

TUNE / DECAY
Sets resonator pitch and resonance tail length with stability clamping
DAMP / DRIVE
Shapes loop brightness and saturation inside the feedback path
BAND / BP RANGE
Focuses output using a selectable bandpass range
LFO DEPTH / LFO SPEED
Adds micro-modulation movement from subtle to animated
MODE / HOT / STEREO
Switch resonator character, increase aggression, and widen channels
MIX / OUT / PANIC
Blend dry/wet, match loudness, and reset delay/filter state

Common Questions

  • No effect: Raise MIX and DECAY, then confirm audio is routed through Comb.
  • Too harsh: Lower DRIVE or DAMP, and trim highs with post EQ in your host.
  • Low-end mud: Raise LOOP HP and reduce pre-EQ low frequencies.
  • Resonance stuck: Use PANIC to clear delay and filter state, then lower DECAY.
